Expectations

Warrior Swimmers are expected to:

  • Swim for fun and enjoyment of the meet.
  • Commit to working hard.
  • Represent the Warriors: get along with and cooperate with my coaches and teammates. 
  • Will always demonstrate good sportsmanship. 
  • Will respect my coaches, teammates, parents, opponents, and volunteers 
  • Will not comment negatively about myself, fellow swimmers, or my team verbally or on social media. 
  • Will not use any profanity at practices, swim meets, or any WWST functions. 
  • Will not participate in physical violence or threats of physical violence. 

Parents are expected to:

  • Support their swimmers to abide by the expectations outlined above.
  • Uphold their volunteer obligations.
  • Understand their swimmers may not be allowed to compete or participate should their behavior present an ongoing problem.
  • Understand that any concerns or grievances should be communicated to the parent rep, not the coaches.
  • Will not post negative comments about your swimmer, their peers, the coaches, or the WWST on any social media outlet
  • Will not under any circumstance shout aggressively or show disrespect to any coach, board member, parent, or meet volunteer.
  • Declare meet attendance for their swimmers via this site prior to the deadline.
  • Abide by CAL rules, including: NO SMOKING, VAPING, ALCOHOLIC BEVERGES, or ILLEGAL DRUGS are permitted on the pool deck or in common-use swim meet areas during a CAL swim meet.

​Use of Pool Facilities during Practices and Meets

Morning Practices: 

  • Only swimmers who are currently in practice are allowed in the pool
  • This includes zero entry area of the pool.

Home Meets: 

  • The pool is closed to general membership. 
  • No one is allowed in the pool unless they are swimming in an active race.

Required Skills for New Swimmers

  • Hold breath and blow bubbles with full head underwater for 5 seconds (coach will do it with your child and count)
  • Successfully jump off of a block and kick back to the wall
  • Complete one full lap (25 meters) on stomach with little to no assistance or stopping on the lane line; swimmer will start lap from pushing off the wall
  • Show comfort on back without assistance and kick with a coach who will follow for half a lap
  • Willingness and excitement to learn and be part of the team

*Coaches will conduct evaluations during the first week of practice. Your child may be recommended for our Pre-Team. Pre-Team is a bridge program where the goal is to compete in a swim meet before the end of the season.*
